<p>Washington Township Recreation Ushers in Autumn with the Return of “Stand Strong” and “Sit Strong”</p>
<p>Washington Township Recreation is welcoming the crisp, colorful days of autumn with the seasonal return of its popular Stand Strong and Sit Strong Strength &amp; Balance programs. After strong community turnout and enthusiastic reviews, both classes are back to help residents move into fall feeling grounded, energized, and supported. Each program runs as an 8‑week session.</p>
<p>Stand Strong offers a series of gentle body‑weight movements and light dumbbell exercises designed to build core stability, improve balance, and strengthen major muscle groups. Tailored especially for older adults and those easing back into a fitness routine, the class focuses on posture, mobility, and steady, confident movement.&nbsp; This session meets on <strong>Mondays, September 21–November 9, 2026</strong>, <strong>12:30–1:15 PM</strong>. Canes, walkers, and sitting are not permitted; a doctor’s note may be required.</p>
<p>Sit Strong provides a fun, low‑impact workout performed entirely from a seated position, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to increase flexibility, strength, and circulation without added pressure on the joints. Returning by popular demand, this class meets <strong>Wednesdays, September 23 through November 18, 2026</strong>, from <strong>11:30 AM–12:15 PM</strong>.</p>
<p>All classes are held at the <strong>Washington Township Community Center, 35 E. Springtown Rd., Long Valley, NJ</strong>.&nbsp; A <strong>non‑refundable fee is due by September 16, 2026</strong>. <p>Washington Township Recreation, in partnership with TJD Sports Academy, is excited to announce its upcoming Pickleball League held at Rock Spring Park. Designed for athletes ranging from Advanced Beginner to High Intermediate skill levels, the league emphasizes positive coaching, skill development, confidence building, and fun, active community competition.</p>
<p>The league offers flexible options to fit busy schedules, allowing participants to choose between Thursday matches running from September 17th to October 22nd or Saturday matches running from September 19th to October 24th, with all games taking place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Players enjoy a guaranteed regular season of match play followed by a full-qualifying playoff in week six. Each team will consist of 2 or 3 players, and players are required to register individually. If you don't have a team, you'll register as a free agent and then be assigned to a team. Participants must bring their own paddles.</p>
<p>Nonrefundable fee is due by <strong>September 14, 2026</strong>, and early sign‑up is encouraged to avoid late fees and secure a spot.</p>

Running <strong>Wednesdays, September 16 through November 18, 2026 (9 weeks)</strong>, this once‑a‑week class is a great way to stay active, boost your energy, and feel strong throughout the season.</p>

<p><strong>Early Morning Mat Yoga (10 weeks) begins at 8:00 AM,</strong> delivering an energizing start to your day.</p>
<p><strong>Chair Yoga (10 weeks) follows at 10:00 AM and is already full.</strong> To meet demand, we’ve added a second <strong>9‑week Chair Yoga session at 11:30 AM.</strong></p>
<p>All classes begin Thursday, September 17 through November 19, 2026, <strong>except the added 11:30 AM Chair Yoga class</strong>, which runs 9 weeks and <strong>will not meet on October 15th</strong>. <p>Celebrate the start of the holiday season with Washington Township Recreation’s special day trip to Lancaster, PA on Thursday, November 5, 2026! Enjoy a full day of shopping, dining, and the heartwarming holiday musical <em>Winter Wonderland</em> in beautiful Pennsylvania Dutch Country.</p>
<p>The bus will depart from the Senior Center at 9:00 AM and arrive at the Rockvale Outlets, where you’ll have time to browse more than 40 favorite brands and enjoy lunch at one of the many on-site eateries.</p>
<p>At 3:00 PM, immerse yourself in <em>Winter Wonderland</em>, a magical musical journey filled with festive scenery, lavish costumes, and live performances of cherished holiday classics. With a fresh cast and a live orchestra, this show captures the joy and sparkle of the season from the moment you arrive.</p>
<p>Following the show, the bus will depart for home with an estimated return time of 7:00 PM.</p>
<p>Tickets are nonrefundable and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Prices are $105 for residents and $120 for non-residents. Payment is due no later than October 5, 2026, pending availability. Please note that the Recreation Department is not responsible for finding a replacement if you are unable to attend.</p>

<p>Join our team of caring volunteers and help deliver nutritious meals to Long Valley residents through Meals on Wheels. Deliveries are made on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—never on holidays or weekends—and only <strong>once a month of your time</strong> is needed to make an impact. It’s a flexible and rewarding way to give back to your community.</p>
