Whether you’re a seasoned flower fan or just looking for a lively afternoon out with friends, Buddy will guide you step-by-step as you craft a breathtaking fall arrangement to serve as the perfect centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table. What You'll Do:

• Spread joy and pose for photos at fun seasonal events.
• Listen to holiday wish lists with patience and enthusiasm.
• Participate in the annual Jolly Jamboree & Senior Holiday Luncheon.

What We're Looking For:

• A warm, cheerful personality who loves working with kids and families.
• Reliable availability for event dates in December.
• Traditional Santa look/real beard preferred, or willingness to wear a high-quality suit and beard (provided or your own).
• Note: Background check required.

Pass the Gravy! Washington Township Recreation Host’s Festive Thanksgiving Brunch for Seniors

Get ready to gobble ’til you wobble! Washington Township Recreation is thrilled to invite local seniors to kick off the holiday season with a cheerful Thanksgiving Brunch on Monday, November 16, 2026, starting at 10:30 AM. The party is taking place at the Washington Township Community Center, located at 35 East Springtown Road in Long Valley.

Guests are in for a bright, joyful morning packed with, fantastic neighbors, and a mouthwatering holiday feast catered by the famous River Star Diner. This festive event always sells out fast, so don't miss out on this exciting event—grab your seat before it's gone!

This special gathering is open to all local seniors, but advance registration is strictly required since we can't accommodate walk-ins at the door. To secure your spot, make sure your non-refundable registration fee arrives by Monday, November 9, 2026.

 FLYER:2026 Spooktacular Halloween Decor

The air is getting crisp, the leaves are turning, and we at Washington Township Recreation are officially calling on all local ghouls, ghosts, and creative homeowners to show off their Halloween decorating talents.

Beginning September 29th, residents who have transformed their yards and porches into festive haunts can submit their homes to be featured in recreation’s official social media showcase. Whether your home a home features a charming pumpkin display, a family-friendly autumn wonderland, or a spine-chilling graveyard scene, we want to celebrate the hard work and community spirit.  Our township has some of the most creative residents around, and this initiative is a fun, easy way to bring neighbors together, whether they are decorating their own homes or driving around to enjoy everyone else's hard work.

To join the festive showcase, residents simply need to snap a high-quality photo of their decorated home and send it along with their address to recreation@wtmorris.net. The deadline is strictly October 29th at 12:00 PM (noon), and no late entries will be accepted by our resident goblins! All photos will go live on our website on October 30th, and submissions will be posted regularly throughout October on our official recreation Facebook page- facebook.com/WashingtonMCNJRec.

We encourage neighbors to use the shared addresses to plan their own festive evening drives to admire the local displays and enjoy the community's holiday spirit.

 FLYER:2026 Property Fraud Alert Seminar

Have you ever heard of property fraud, or do you know how to protect your home from real estate scams? To help residents safeguard their most valuable assets, Washington Township Recreation is hosting County Clerk Ann F. Grossi, Esq. from the Morris County Clerk’s Office to host an informative, free Property Alert Workshop featuring Morris. The presentation will take place on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 11:30 AM at the Washington Township Community Center, 35 East Springtown Rd., Long Valley, NJ  07853.

During the session, Clerk Grossi will explain the mechanics of property and deed fraud and outline effective steps residents can take to avoid becoming a victim. A major focus of the workshop will be the free Property Alert Service offered by the Morris County Clerk’s Office.

 FLYER:2026 General Technology QA

Washington Township Recreation will host a free, informal General Technology Q&A Seminar on Wednesday, September 23 at 12:30 PM, featuring retired IT manager Bill Caproni.

This open session invites anyone who has technology questions—whether about computers, tablets, phones, or other devices—to learn in a relaxed, supportive environment. Attendees will have the chance to get answers to their own questions, learn from the experiences of others, and discover reliable sources for further information on a wide range of tech topics such as AI, Cyber Security, and Streaming. While Mr. Caproni will guide participants through suggested steps, he will not handle or operate personal devices, ensuring a comfortable, hands-on learning experience for all. No products or services will be sold.

The seminar will take place at the Washington Township Community Center, located at 35 East Springtown Road in Long Valley, and is open to all community and non-members at no cost.

 REGISTRATION FORM:2026 American Music Theatre

Celebrate the start of the holiday season with Washington Township Recreation’s special day trip to Lancaster, PA on Thursday, November 5, 2026! Enjoy a full day of shopping, dining, and the heartwarming holiday musical Winter Wonderland in beautiful Pennsylvania Dutch Country.

The bus will depart from the Senior Center at 9:00 AM and arrive at the Rockvale Outlets, where you’ll have time to browse more than 40 favorite brands and enjoy lunch at one of the many on-site eateries.

At 3:00 PM, immerse yourself in Winter Wonderland, a magical musical journey filled with festive scenery, lavish costumes, and live performances of cherished holiday classics. With a fresh cast and a live orchestra, this show captures the joy and sparkle of the season from the moment you arrive.

Following the show, the bus will depart for home with an estimated return time of 7:00 PM.

Tickets are nonrefundable and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Prices are $105 for residents and $120 for non-residents. Payment is due no later than October 5, 2026, pending availability. Please note that the Recreation Department is not responsible for finding a replacement if you are unable to attend.
