April 24, 2020 - The Washington Township Health Department has reported 79 confirmed cases as of yesterday. Sadly, there are ten reported deaths but 17 cases were confirmed released from isolation.

We held a senior Virtual Bingo Bonanza yesterday which we will be doing on a weekly basis. This evening will be the community bingo, registrations are now closed.

If you are having problems with unemployment insurance claims, the Governor's office has provided the contact information for Catherine Myckoff 609-777-3200 or you can send an email to: Constituent.Relations@dol.nj.gov for assistance.

The Recycling center located at 54 Rock Road will be open as normal tomorrow, Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM..

This week’s Washington Township themed crossword can be found on the recreation announcements page. Keep an eye on that page for upcoming announcements about more online exercise and cooking at home classes.

As a reminder, if you’re sick, call your healthcare provider. Call your doctor’s office or hospital FIRST before driving there. If you call 9-1-1 for a true emergency, please cover your face to protect yourself and our first responders. Follow CDC guidelines and stay home as much as possible:

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

  • Avoid handshakes.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. If you do not have a tissue, use your sleeve (not your hand).

  • Get a flu shot to prevent the flu if you have not done so this season.

  • Wear a cloth mask at grocery stores and where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

There will be short updates if there is news over the weekend and otherwise a full report on Monday. Have a happy and safe weekend,

Mayor Matthew T. Murello
