NOTICE TO BIDDERS

 

            Notice is hereby given that, Washington Township (Morris County) will receive sealed bids for a written agreement granting permission to hunt deer for conservation and management purposes during the 2020-2021 hunting season on public property owned by the Township as follows:

            Spring Lane/Marjorie Drive (Block 11, Lots 16, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 27.07) 54.81 acres       (Minimum Bid $1,000)

                       Reservoir Road (Block 3, Lots 10 and 10.02 and Block 9, Lots 1, 2, 34 and 6.02) 131.30 acres (bow-hunting only) (Minimum Bid $1,500)

                       The sealed bids will be opened by the Township Clerk of the Township of Washington in the County of Morris, State of New Jersey, on September 3, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the bid opening will be held electronically using ZOOM, a cloud-based audio-conferencing tool with computer and telephone access. Access directions will be published on the Township’s website www.wtmorris.org.  

            Bidders may bid on any or all of the identified properties.

            To be eligible to bid, a bidder must be a non-profit New Jersey unincorporated association or a New Jersey non-profit corporation, and have a membership of at least five (5) members.  Along with its bid, a Bidder shall supply the Township with a copy of its certificate of incorporation, or, if the association is not incorporated, then a copy of the articles of organization or by-laws.  The successful bidder will supply, within three (3) business days from notification of award, a certificate demonstrating that it carries commercial general liability insurance with limits of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence, and in the aggregate, naming the Township as an additional insured.  All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee in the form of a Certified or Cashier’s Check, payable to the Township of Washington, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount bid or $100, whichever is greater.

            Detailed conditions and requirements for each bid (which are not fully set out in this advertisement), as well as a copy of the proposed written agreement which the successful bidder shall sign, are available from the Washington Township Clerk, and can be requested via email or to schedule a time to view with the Township Clerk at ndigregorio@wtmorris.net - 43 Schooley’s Mountain Road, Long Valley, New Jersey 07853-0216.

            All bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and “Hunting Bid,” (with the applicable property identified by Street, Block and Lot) on the outside, and be addressed to the Washington Township Clerk.

                       The Township Committee reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and to award the agreement in the best interests of the Township.
