The Washington Township Health Department would like to make residents aware that May is Melanoma month.  Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the US and melanoma is the most deadly type of skin cancer.  More than 90% of melanoma skin cancers are due to skin cell damage from ultraviolet (UV) radiation exposure  Melanoma rates have doubled between 1982 and 2011 but comprehensive skin cancer screening programs have proven an effective measure in identifying and treating all forms of skin cancer at their earliest stages

The Bernards Township Health Department will be offering a program, Skin Cancer and it’s Prevention, which will be presented on May 22, 2019 at the Bernardsville Library.  All are invited to attend.
